Will be more dangerous if jailed’: Imran Khan on terror charges against him
The Head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday threatened that he would become more dangerous if sent to prison while expressing displeasure in the great distribution of police outside the Islamic Court of Islamabad during the trial about the case of terrorism submitted against him.
The Head of PTI has been ordered in a terrorism case regarding the complaint of Judge Saddar Islamabad Ali Javed for threatening female judges from the Federal capital, during a general meeting held on August 20.
Khan on Thursday arrived at the Islamic Court of Islamabad (IHC) in the midst of strict security. Hundreds of security personnel have been deployed in court since noon, The News International reported.
Before Imran left his residence Banigala, several PTI leaders arrived at the court, but the security official stopped Fawad Chaudhry, Shehazad Waseem and the others because their names were not found in the list provided by the registrant office.
Speaking to reporters, Imran expressed displeasure in the great distribution of the police and other law enforcement agencies in the court. He wondered who was feared by the authorities, because they had mobilized a heavy police contingent outside the IHC.
Imran refused to speak more, said his comments might be misinterpreted by the court and said that he would speak after attending the trial, The News International reported.
Speaking of the media after the court decided to preach him in a court insult, Imran told reporters that he wanted to contextualize his statement in court regarding female judges but was not given the opportunity to do it.
Every statement has a context. This country experiences a setback from day to day, and the International Monetary Fund Report (IMF) has shown it. They can do whatever they want, but the only solution for instability is a new selection,” he added.
Imran said he did not sacrifice one of his opponents in his term of office added that there were some cases that were wrongly handled, but he knew about them after that. The Head of PTI rejected speculation about backdoor contact with several ‘important’ figures, The News International reported.
Asked if he had met an important official who was also related to PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif, Imran said that nothing like that happened. Security officials put up thorny cables and forbid people without permission to enter the court.
Those who must appear before the court in different cases are permitted only after undergoing a strict examination. Two senior police supervisors (SSP) were among 778 police personnel deployed in court, which was also monitored by a safe city camera.
