The Head of Crimea controlled by Moscow on Monday accused Ukraine of shooting the oil drilling platform off the coast of the Peninsula who was annexed by Russia in 2014.
“This morning the enemy attacked the Chernomorneftegaz drilling platform,” said Sergey Aksyonov in Telegram, referring to the Crimea -based oil and gas company.
I am in contact with our colleagues from the Ministry of Defense and FSB (Security Agency), we work to save people,” he added.
According to him, five people were saved, three of them were injured, while the search continued for others “with the involvement of patrol boats and flights”.
Aksyonov did not determine which platforms had been affected, but Chernomorneftegaz operated several gas and oil fields in the black sea and in the Azov Sea.
