900,000 Afghans lost jobs since Taliban takeover in Afghanistan: US
According to the US Special Inspector General for the reconstruction of Afghanistan (Sigar), at least 900,000 Afghan residents have lost their jobs since the Taliban took control last August.
Women who work disproportionate are affected, according to Sigar, with the work of women is expected to drop 21 percent in mid -20122, reporting the Khaama press.
Since the Taliban took over power, unemployment has skyrocketed, and poverty in many parts of the state has placed millions of people in risk.
According to international labor organizations, more than 500,000 Afghan workers lost their jobs in the third quarter of 2021, and the number of people who would lose their jobs because the Taliban took control is estimated to reach 700,000 to 900,000 people in mid -2022, reported by Khaama Press.
Because of the four decades of conflict, severe drought, and Pandemic, the Afghan economy has collapsed.
After the Taliban seized power after the withdrawal with a hurry from the US army, the international community froze the assets of Afghanistan and resisted assistance.
In addition, women work, and especially female breadwinners, have struggled to meet their needs since the Taliban took control. Female employees in government offices are currently located in most cases, reported Khaama Press.
Women’s rights have grown steadily throughout the international presence in Afghanistan, but the return of the Taliban threatens this progress.
